Background:
My client is running an HP 957 on MPE/iX 6.0. The system is configured with
a 2GB HP system disk (LDEV 1). All user accounts/files are stored on an EMC
Symmetrix box with the HP's disk allocation configured as two 9GB volumes.
EMC has quoted $40,000 for next year's maintenance contract so the client
wishes to move the data to a portion of their IBM Shark array.
Questions:
1. Does anyone know if I can even attach the HP to an IBM Shark array via
the F/W SCSI card we have installed? How would I configure the disks in
SYSGEN?
2. What native HP disk array options are available that would provide me
equivalent RAID-5 storage and what are the likely costs, hurdles, etc?
Thanks for any information you can provide.
Glenn
