Tracy,

after having had a quick look at the mklang.pl script
that comes with PGP 5.0i, it seems to me that the issue
is that it attempts to invoke /usr/bin/perl with its
first line (the shell exec script "comment"), but there
is no /usr/bin/perl on Invent3k.

Please try modifiying it to use /usr/local/bin/perl.
