Hi,

I'm curious...what's the best FTP transfer rate anyone
has seen when going out from a LAN to the internet and then
to another 3K or 9K?

Using a 3K with a 100 Mbit card...and a 100 Mbit pipe,
we're trying to send a 70 MB file from California to the east coast.

3K system:

100 Mbit card, full duplex, no auto negotiate.

   MPE/iX 6.0 (fully patched, AFAIK)

Transferring (via FTP) a 70 MB file:

Local 3000 to Local 3000: 30 Mbit (so, we know we can get a decent rate)

   3000 to distant 9000: 5 Mbit (slow!)

3000 to distant 9000: 15 Mbit (four FTPs going at once to
                                       same machine, shows that
the pipe isn't limited to 5 Mbit)
(haven't tried more than 4 simultaneous)

The local 3000 is a 989.

thanks,
