Make sure that you do not have a speed / duplex mismatch between the HP NIC
card and the 3Com switch port. It is best to set both of them too "100 Full
Duplex". My guess is both of them might be set to "Auto", which sometimes
works and sometimes doesn't. See if setting both to 100/Full helps.
