If they didn't do it on purpose, they didn't lie, if only by definition. To 
lie is "to make an untrue statement with intent to deceive."

It's always been my impression that when everyone is else is wrong, or that 
it's clear that they are "purposefully intending on deceiving you," and only 
you know the truth, then it may well be time to seek professional help.
