What I meant to write (or cut-and-paste) was:

First, I want to thank all of you who took the time to send me your inputs
on the topic. Mr. Hoxsie requested that I share my findings with the list,
so here it is. I decided on an HP PSC 2610 as it had all the features
mentioned below and in comparing other printers appeared to have slightly
faster printing speeds. After making a trip to Micro Center, only to be
told that they were out of stock as this is their most popular selling
multi-function printer, I found a website that was selling it for $174.00
instead of the HP and Micro Center advertised price of $259.99. The seller
maintains a 5 star rating on Nextag and I have just received confirmation
of shipment as of today (ordered it Tuesday, but web indicated that their
phones lines were going to be down from 10/3-10/5, thus their delay in
shipping). Shipping was free(no tax either). The website I ordered it from
is www.beachcamera.com (brick and mortar location in NJ).

Alas, after 7 or 8 years my Canon MF C5500 printer (printer, fax, copier,
scanner) appears to have decided to call it quits and I find myself looking
for a replacement. I am satisfied with both the longevity of this printer
and the cost of use (printer cartridges were fairly cheap), I would prefer
to stay with a Canon printer, but would like to entertain any
recommendations from the list as to a replacement. My needs are as follows:

1). CFO (wife) says I can't go over $300.00 ( but I'm sure I could nudge
this a little higher for the right choice).
2). Would prefer to connect via network so it could be used by all PC's on
my home LAN.
3). Prefer flat bed scanner
4). Print in Color or B&W.
5). Cost efficient ink cartridges/toner ( does that rule out HP ?)

Any input would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Regards,

Reid E. Baxter
