hi all!
so...plunging forward in my effort to get one of my mpe systems to act
as a dns/cache server...and i've got some questions:
1) 'no source of entropy found" -- that's in reference to having no
/dev/random but i'm wondering how much i care? if i care, i'm sure i
need to do something more than mknod /dev/random blahblahblah, yes?
2) there are several zones defined in my named.conf file. most of them
transfer (easily seen in syslog.log) but 10.IN-ADDR.ARPA/IN never
successfully transfers. this is the error i get (over and over):
failed while receiving responses: out of range
it's worth noting (i think) that all longs internal network address
start with 10. and given the size of our network...it makes me think
the error is related to that. i also see this message in syslog:
zone transfer deferred due to quota
(in relation to 10.)
i can't find anything on google....and i really don't think it's
worthwhile to call the rc (but feel free to correct me :-) any
thoughts? - d
