Mark,

It's been a long strange trip from OCC and So. Cal. My best wishes for
success in your new role. Your contributions to the 3000 community will not
be forgotten.

Chuck Ciesinski

Subject: [HP3000-L] I've joined the vCSY diaspora

Hi HP3000-L,

Effective immediately, I have voluntarily joined the vCSY diaspora of
former MPE-ers who have transitioned to non-MPE roles elsewhere within
HP. Ever since the fateful 2001 decision to end the e3000 business, I
have known this day would eventually come, and it is still a bit weird
now that the day is finally here. I am no longer working on MPE on a
daily basis anymore; any future HP MPE work on my part will only consist
of consulting back to vCSY on a limited, as-needed basis. My new HP
responsibilities consist of doing firmware-related activities for the
TCSD Server Health Management Lab (SHML).

Jeff Vance has inherited my vCSY Internet & Interoperability
responsibilities, and Bill Cadier is now responsible for the
invent3k/invent9k/inventi2 systems. Please direct all invent system
related e-mail to [log in to unmask]

I'm still happy to answer MPE questions via personal e-mail to
[log in to unmask] so that I can pass on my MPE knowledge before those
neurons get recycled, but please be aware that I must now limit my MPE
replies to my too-scarce personal time. So don't be surprised if it
takes you several days to get MPE replies from me. As always, if you
have any urgent MPE questions and you have HP software support, please
contact the HP Response Center.

It's been a fun ride, and I will always look back on my MPE/CSY years
with fondness for the OS and the friendships I've made. So long and
thanks for all the fish...

- Mark B.

PS: I have just returned from a week-long offline vacation and am still
processing a large e-mail backlog. If you sent me any private e-mail
last week, please be patient while waiting for a reply. Thanks!
