Hi Bob :)
Ok... dumb question... since I have my flood insurance (required since
we are 7" above the 100 year flood plain at that house here in Oregon) with
Farmers rather than FEMA .... do I fall under the "private company
practices"? I know I know... it's a dumb question... but do you really
think I would trust the insurance agent's answer? hehehe
Remember those little storms that hit Oregon back in December of 1995?
Wind in the 90's mph and rains bad for even us? then the early melts of
the snow pack in February of 1996 combining with rains.... such fun!
NOT!!!! and 3 weeks deployed ...

Just wait until those hurricane victims with flood insurance
find out FEMA's NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program) won't
fairly pay insurance claims for their customers. The practices
they follow are illegal for all private insurance companies.
As soon as the media circus leaves town and Katrina is no longer
news those victims will be ignored.
Been there. Done that.

friends? Maybe I am going over the edge but I wonder how long it will take
before companies like Halliburton, Fluor, the Shaw group gobble up
non-compete bids to help in the effort to cleanup the wallets of the tax
paying base in the US for rebuilding New Orleans. Lets see over the next
several months when things shake out.
