Hello Friends:

Our 3000 Newswire blog entry for today keeps up with the changing
fortunes of the site of the HP Technology Forum:

<http://www.3000newswire.com/blog>

Encompass executive director Mary Ellen Smith said this morning she's
hopeful the storm's damage won't impact the start of the show in two
weeks. For now, people are being advised to stay in their shelter.
There's a great blog on the hurricane's landfall, hosted by the New
Orleans NBC affiliate:

I'll be headed to the New Orleans show on 9/11 to cover what HP's got
to say about the 3000, and to look over the alternatives for HP 3000
customers who might want a user group experience to cover their
migration target (if it's an HP platform). Encompass wants to attract
the Interex refugees. vCSY folks will be presenting in New Orleans.
There's also going to be a meeting that might be the only vestige of
the Interex SIGs to survive, SIG-Itanium.
