James, I would love to help you, but I am totally confused now. If you
could explain what you have now (and how it is setup), what you want to add
and what mapper showed, I could try to make some suggestions.

The drive is an HP/ComPaq HB01831B95 18.2 GB Ultra 3 with no visible
jumpers. The local tech says that the devices is inherently single-
ended as their is not pass-thru connector. I am not sure that this
is the same thing as what is meant by SE for SCSI but I have no solid
reason to doubt this assertion.
