I am playing around with storing files to disc in anticipation of
moving them via ftp to an online store on one of our linux servers,
thus ridding ourselves of the need to manually change tapes (I
hope). I have noticed on the store progress output that a number
of files thought to reside on our private volume (hal-data) show
their resident device as disc instead. My questions are: 1. Is this
as significant as I think it might be? 2. If so then is there a
quick method of moving these files so that they all reside on the
private volume?

Regards,
Jim
