The VOLUTIL CONTIGVOL can fail to condense free space on a disk,
if the number of 'free blocks' is too high.
CONTIGVOL will produce this warning :
*Warning: Contigvol - Inverse Extent Tbl Full, Internal resource limit.
The relevant internal tables in VOLUTIL have been sufficiently
increased to deal with 10 times as much extents and 5 times as
much files (UFIDs).

perhaps i am using the wrong command, or the file system is so
fragmented that it is overflowing an internal table.
