My furnace thermostat even had Daylight Savings Logic, and I don't feel
like hacking that...

Ron's blog also mentions the proposed change to expand Daylight Saving
Time.
I must admit, first that I have not been following this too closely to
know if others are already saying what I thought when I heard this.
Because I am flabbergasted. I don't mind changing the logic I use to
schedule my jobs; that's pretty straightforward. But a number of devices
assume that they already know when DST changes. Old desupported versions
of Windows and any vendor-abandoned OSs are unlikely to get a patch. And
I have even less hope for my VCR. I wonder how much saved daylight it
will take to make up for equipment that most people will demote at best,
or entirely unplug?
