When I was last in Hannover, that was the spelling on the map.  But, being
an olde farte, I may have misremembered.

Just realized that you already said this a year ago. And you mentioned
Han(n)over then.

Did a Postleitzahl check on Au- and only Ausleben showed up as being
anywhere near Hannover.

Are you sure that the 'Aus' part  isn't phonetic? Os- Ots-  Oz-  Ors- Us-
etc. would open up lots of other possibilities.
