The Employee Relations Committee is pleased to announce the following offer
to UTC Faculty and Staff:
Dojo Chattanooga, provider of martial arts instruction and fitness
kickboxing courses, is now open and accepting students. Located
downtown on Market Street near 5th, this facility is conveniently
located to serve those working or living downtown.
A special invitation is being extended to all UTC Faculty and Staff to
enjoy a complimentary week of training at Dojo Chattanooga. Upon
completing that training, if you decide to enroll on a continuing
course (basic programs are $69 per month) you will also have your
enrollment fee waived -- a $49 savings. All courses are month to month
with no contractual obligations.
Fitness Kickboxing is ideal for those looking primarily for fitness and
the fifteen stations of bag work will also allow you to leave the
stress of the day behind you.
The traditional martial arts of Kenpo or Wing Chun explore the complete
systems of Chinese self-defense. In addition to adult classes,
separate childrens classes are also available.
Also of note is that Dojo Chattanooga, beginning in August, will offer
a FREE clinic on the first Saturday of every month (9:30-11:30 a.m.) on
basic skills and strategies for Womens Self-Defense. This class is free
of charge but please call (267-0855) to reserve your space.
Trevor Haines, owner and chief instructor, has been training in the
martial arts for 28 years and teaching for 20 years. He also holds a
B.A. Degree in Communication Studies from California State University,
Sacramento.
