I very much agree with the recommendation for a validation following store.
We use a parallel (not interleaved) store to four DLT.
After STORE, and if all jcw/var are okay, and if EXACTLY four tapes used
(no cartridge overflow and no down drive), and if ZERO bad tapes, then use
MPEX rewind, pause a while, then do a VSTORE.
This involved no operators, but slightly more than doubled total job time.
But we knew about 07:00 am whether or not to trust the tapes.
