What version of MPE are you on and what version of Sendmail are you running?

What are the contents of your JDAEMON job file?

If you migrated from the unsupported 8.9.1 bixby.org version of Sendmail to one
of the HP supported versions and neglected to update your JDAEMON job, that
would explain the symptom you are seeing of files not being cleared from
/var/spool/clientmqueue.
