The Arts & Education Council, with support from Allied Arts of Greater
Chattanooga (both non-profit organizations), will present a film
screening and book signing next week:
At the start of the 2004 climbing season, only 196 people had ever
scaled K2, only five of them were women, and three never made it off the
mountain. The Arts & Education Council invites you to come hear their
tragic and compelling stories...
WHAT: Film Screening and Book Signing with JENNIFER JORDAN, top expert
on K2
WHEN: THURSDAY, MAY 5, at 7 p.m.
WHERE: Tennessee Aquarium Auditorium
Jordan will screen her documentary Women of K2, which she wrote and
produced for National Geographic Television about the five women who
scaled K2, where the fierce weather and unforgiving terrain make it
three times as deadly as Everest. Following the film, Jordan will sign
copies of her book Savage Mountain, which will be available for purchase
at the event.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door starting at 6:30 p.m.
*Receive a 50% discount with your AEC Film Club Card!*
This event is funded in part by a grant from Allied Arts of Greater
Chattanooga.
