over the $2,000 for the YEAR. We wouldn't have to pay another
penny for her medical expenses the rest of the year! I am
curious what her next NINE days at the same hospital cost.

I knew the whole medical charges/write-offs/costs in the USA
is a big scam. But never in my wildest imagination could I
have guessed it was THAT big a scam.<

Why, if the rest of the cost is covered? Before I suggest that you move to
Germany, I have an out -of-pocket deal with my insurance too. It is lower
than $2000 though. And if it goes above that, it would be tax deductible
anyway.

What we do NOT have here are lifetime maximum expenses. Meaning that I can
never be bankrupted just by being sick. Besides the risk of losing a job,
of course.
