This is a reminder that you must complete the 2005-06 Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to reapply for the HOPE scholarship for
the
upcoming academic year. If you are currently a HOPE recipient, you must
fill out the FAFSA each year. The published FAFSA processing deadline
for
the 2005-06 academic year is May 1, 2005. If you have not already done
so, you should complete your FAFSA online immediately to make sure your
FAFSA is processed before May 1st.

You can do this online at www.fafsa.ed.gov

And since it is time to register for Fall 2005 classes, you should also
understand how your registration decisions for Summer and Fall classes
can
affect your ability to renew your HOPE scholarship. More than 1,000
students attended the mandatory HOPE information sessions that the
university held last semester. It may help you to review the "How to
Maintain Your HOPE Scholarship" handout that was distributed at these
sessions. This is available on UTC's website here:

If you were unable to attend one of these sessions, it is important
that you review the information that was discussed at these sessions.

And don't forget when your spring grades are posted online that you can
also review your TELS(Lottery Scholarship) GPA and TELS attempted hours
online as well.

In May, students that have lost their eligibility for HOPE will be
notified by e-mail to their UTC e-mail address.
