The Maclellan Foundation has awarded Valerie Rutledge and Lucien Ellington
$10,000 in support of their efforts in assisting local elementary and middle
schools in the implementation of the Core Knowledge curriculum.
Core Knowledge, developed through the leadership of Professor E.D. Hirsch,
is a nationally-recognized liberal arts curriculum utilized by over 1,400
schools. The major objective of this rich content-oriented curriculum is to
provide all children with a superb early education. Currently, Drs Rutledge
and Ellington work with Core Knowledge teachers in six local Georgia and
Tennessee schools.
Please join in congratulating Dr. Rutledge and Dr. Ellington on this
accomplishment!
