Greetings!
We have a customer who stored their spool files to disc rather than tape
using SPFXFER by doing something similar to the following:
************************
:file spfdisc;dev=disc;temp
:spfxfer
SPFXFER A.03.00 (C) HEWLETT-PACKARD CO., 1989
> output @.barryd;*spfdisc
#FILE #JOB DEV/CL SECTORS OWNER
#O3366 #J2147 LP 32 MGR.BARRYD
<snip>
> exit
:save spfdisc
:listf spfdisc,2
ACCOUNT= SYS GROUP= PUB
FILENAME CODE ------------LOGICAL RECORD----------- ----SPACE----
SIZE TYP EOF LIMIT R/B SECTORS #X MX
SPFDISC 2048B UA 233 1048575 1 2048 4 *
***********************
The original spool files have since been deleted. They would like to
restore the spool files from this file but they can not figure out how
to do it and neither can I.
I have checked various manuals and I have tried various things such as:
:file spfdisc;dev=disc
:spfxfer
SPFXFER A.03.00 (C) HEWLETT-PACKARD CO., 1989
> input @.barryd;*spfdisc
Invalid tape format.
Native Mode Spooler message 10765
> exit
:
However, I have not had any luck. I know that SPFXFER was designed to
transfer spool files to tape and I know that it may not be possible, but
I thought that I would ask here just in case. Has anyone been able
to do this and if so, how?
Thank you,
Barry Durand
