I find a good resource on spams/hoaxes/etc to be:
http://urbanlegends.about.com/ (and About.com in general on other
subjects.)

In particular for the 419 type scams--Nigeria, et al--there is a
page with specific information:

One particular article listed there talks about how the Nigerian
government is fighting it:
