STEVEN KOCSIS NAMED SOCON INDOOR ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Chattanooga's Steven Kocsis was named the Southern
Conference Indoor Athlete of the Week for his accomplishments on January 28
at the Rod McCravy Memorial in Lexington, Ky., the league office announced
today.

Kocsis, a senior from Princeton, Ontario, Canada, finished fourth in the
3,000 meter run with a time of 8:13.25. His time broke his own school
record by seven seconds and is over 10 seconds ahead of the next runner on
the Southern Conference performance rankings.

Kocsis, along with teammates Shannon Wommack and Colin Sullivan, will
compete at Iowa State on February 12, while the remaining Chattanooga team
will be in action at the Middle Tennessee Valentine Invitational.
