Mike,

First, the 3K does not support a 1 GB card and never will.

Second, depending on you model, you also need the license for software for the 100Mb NIC and it is not cheap.  It will probably cost 10 times what the NIC costs.  (N-class and A-class servers automatically support the 100MB driver)

However, you may have the 100 mb driver already.

If you do an

:NMAINT,77

and post the results, we should be able to tell you if the drivers are already loaded.

(It's my understanding the 300 won't support 1 GB).

Aside from the purchasing the card are there any other issues, such as
patch levels, or firmware that needs to be addressed?
