the 'ds' subsystem has no idea what bytestream files are.  you need to
use ftp instead.  do check to see that you're running the latest
version of ftp.  ftp is easy to update.  also, give consideration to
using netrc files to hold your logon information to keep from
hard-coding passwords.        - d
