Hi Paul, Jeff, Donna Bruce, Craig, Kaae, Cory and all the Rest the Helped
:)
     Jeff got the answer and I am using it to look for the avi files ...
and pipe any found into a second grep looking for greater than 1 gig in
size.... Can you figure out what we are looking for ? and are there any on
your machines... networks... :)   >>>> insert Jaws music here <<<< hehehe

Well... Not quite,

Since the period "." in a regular expression means "any character in the
input" it has to be preceded by a slash "\".

So if within the posix shell issue the following:

grep "\.avi" *

or

grep \\.avi *
