What I do for an unknown tape is dump the first record
with FCOPY.  Then, hopefully, you or someone with experience
with tape formats can recognize what it is.

:FILE T;DEV=TAPE;REC=8192
:FCOPY FROM=*T;TO=;CHAR;HEX;SUBSET=0,1
