You did not specify what model 3000 you are talking about. However, since
you mention 6.0, it's a pre-PCI system. This means there is no LVD-SCSI on
the system.
The DLT7000 requires a Fast Wide Differential SCSI connection, known as
FWSCSI in MPE parlance. Finding one of these puppies may be challenging,
but I suspect calling some hardware brokers may unearth one for you.
At www.dirtcheapdrives.com, I can only see DLT8000s and they are all
LVD-SCSI.
In a panic, you can get an LVD to HVD adapter.

Thanks. You are correct. Since the DDS4 vs. DLT7000 thing is not just
HP3000, I should have caught it when the customer said it wrong. Even though
I am getting rusty with HP3000. Guess I'm spending too much time with PCs
and Web Design. Must be frying my brain.
DLT7000: What sort of interface would that normally have? SCSI? Wide or
single? Fibre? Any suggestions on what model numbers this client should look
for?
Thanks,
