There is a bit of confusion here. DDS4 and DLT7000 do not mix. They are
not the same things.

There is support for DLT7000 tape drives on 6.0PP2. I am not sure if DDS-4
support for DDS-4 tape drives with 150 meter tapes is in 6.0 PP2. On our
systems here (7.0), the DDS-4 is ID HPC5686C, HPC5685C and HPC5683A.

So, you need to find out exactly which device/tape/medium you want to have
on the system.

Subject: [HP3000-L] DDS4 (DLT7000) and MPE 6.0 PP2

Client still on MPE 6.0 Power Patch 2 wants to know if DDS 4 (DLT7000 tape
unit) is supported.

This is probably something I should know of the top of my head. But hey -
you know I'm getting a bit rusty on the HP3000 with the lack of available
contracts.

Also, can someone remind me were to find this sort of information? I am just
plain drawing a blank. That dreaded CRS means if I have not used a bit of
information for a few months, my mind sends it to the bit bucket.

Goes to show why this list is still a valuable resource. As the HP3000
slowly fades into history, it will be even more important to have a place
like this where the last few experts hang around and answer questions.
