 I agree that neither workaround is ideal.  Several years ago we spent a fair
amount of time with a network analyzer looking at the way Reflection and
other emulators behaved with respect to hptypearound. I don't remember all
the details, but I remember emailing someone at HP about this. I believe the
response was to try setting the 6th byte in the venvcntl file. Given the
workarounds and improved telnet support this one fell between the cracks.
That said, I am curious about how big a problem this is for Reflection
users.
