i think the suggestions of adding some displays to your process are
excellent. however, i'll throw in my two-cents worth...
inspite of vesoft's denial, i am convinced that mpex has a problem with
long file names. i was doing something similar awhile back and mpex
just could not handle the long file names. since i was looking for
files by create date (i think...or maybe moddate...), i switched to
using the 'find' command. - d
