Mike,
Absolutely you can use a PC as your system console. In fact, I highly
recommend it. It opens up options such as increasing the screen memory,
copying and pasting console messages into email or other documents, printing
to any network printer instead of a slave printer, etc. Moreover, you can
create a remote console environment by combining the PC with Reflection and
MS Terminal Services or RealVNC or PC Anywhere.
