you can run compress from the ci...very much like you do from within
the shell. the difference are -- express the file using hfs-notation
and if you need wildcarding, using mpe wildcards rather than '*'.
btw....the posix programs prefer bytestream files rather than
fixed-length files.
btw2....i'm pretty sure the posix programs won't be able to handle a
file larger than 4gb. hth - d
