I assume you have defined/configured your mail relay in the configuration
files for your system?
define(`SMART_HOST', `my.relay.host.name')
.... as documented in Mark Bixby's sendmail installation Jazz page:
http://jazz.external.hp.com/src/sendmail/
... and verified that the mail relay host you have configured in place of
'my.relay.host.name' responds to ping?
The next place to look for indications of a problem is your syslog file..
:sh
shell/iX> tail /tmp/syslog.log
<< displays last 10 lines of the syslog.log file >>
Look for errors here associated with your 'my.relay.host.name' relay host.
