Ah Jeff... how little some people remember, eh?  I used to find amusement
in the fact that the companies for which I worked couldn't believe what
could be done, and how promptly, in the 3K side of the house.  They
ultimately took for granted the fact that changes/enhancements/etc could be
put in place so painlessly.  The easier something appears to be, the less
it is appreciated.
If a system doesn't crash regularly, it can't be trying to actually do
something.  If it isn't a huge budget item, it's not worth much....
And yet, we still have executables running like clockwork, though the
source long since disappeared in the mists of time (and the death of the
person who wrote it long ago).  Preserve the customer's investment...  keep
the trains running...
