Denys,

Wow, Denys, you are quoting all of the Left's
favorite organizations (Human Rights Watch,
Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, CNN, BBC).
Wait a minute I see 2 additional sites that tend to have a more
conservative viewpoint (Wall Street Journal). Wait, even more
Left leaning sites! More conservative sites! Oh I see you are
giving information from both sides!

I'll bet, that even though you have given a plethora of information
reported from both sides, we will still see posting that will
disagree that removing Saddam was a good thing. That G. W. is a
loose cannon or some other dribble.

I didn't need any convincing that we (the US) are on the correct side
of history. Time will tell. However with posts like this one,
fair and balanced (oops did I say that, there goes your credibility)
it is hard to dispute the facts.

Keep up the good work Dennys. I have enjoyed every one of your posts.

Tim

You asked a good question, in a sober way and I will try to answer this
question.

BTW, President Bush never said Iraq posed an imminent threat to the US.
He has also never said Iraq was involved in 9/11. Repeating words used
by Winston Churchill in describing Nazi Germany, President Bush referred
to Iraq as a grave and gathering danger. He further stated that if Iraq
was an imminent danger, it would be too late.

I have found some links for you to read. Google is your friend.

To All:

First I would like to apologize for doing my part in reviving or
sustaining a thread that has lived long past it's useful life. I would
also like to say 'ditto' to Adam's comments.

To Denys (or others able to answer):

When the drumbeats of war emanating from GW, DC, DR, et al began to
reach the ears of the US public, the reasons for the beating of the
drums were very clearly given that Iraq posed an imminent, significant
threat to the US and that Iraq was involved in some direct or indirect
way in terrorism. To me those contentions were not believable at the
time and considering all the information I've been able to come across
those contentions seem far less believable. What credible, specific
evidence do you know of that supports those contentions?
