hp recommended years ago to have not more than 15,000 files per group (as a
"rule of thumb").
We check this daily via an OpC script.
We have some groups having more than 15,000 files (one in NSD
account/JobRescue: about 55,000 files) with no problem.

and we should remember that I outlined a solution for this over five
or more?) years ago :)
