When I receive an email from the list, the fields are:
From: is the indivitudal that emailed the -L ... (as in Wirt Atmar below)
To: is the distribution-List ([log in to unmask])
The white list wants to challenge the individual who sent the email, not who it was sent to ... I have tried adding RAVEN.UTC.EDU to my white-list, but it does not help.
Right now, its probably not challenging the -L any more, because i told my ISP to forward emails (based on HP3000-L within the Header) to another mailbox instead of challenging. I hope this will work fine and you "nice" HP folks will not get a challenge email from this account.
But, this is weeding out spammers! They do not have a valid return email address, so i keep getting (Failed Delivery / Returned mailed) that is sent to my TRASH bin automatically. I don't have to look at another Spam :-))))
So far so good ...
Rob.

That's only half true. If you press REPLY ALL on your emailer, you send a
copy of your response to the original author both through the list *and* as a
direct email. While it would be easy enough to whitelist the HP3000-L, he
couldn't possibly have done that in advance for every member of the list as well. The
direct transmissions are the responses that are being challenged.
