Reverse profiles are not often done simply because you get better profiles
(i.e. longer or deeper) by not doing them. Medical wisdom isn't really the
influence, it's common sense to do the better profile. However, as reverse
profiles are not regularly done there is very little information about
them.
But the one thing that always gets my goat is the DM who will insist that
you make the first dive deeper so that you do not
do a reverse profile, I can't see the point.
