On October 28th at noon, Wally (Famous) Amos will speak in the Burkett
Miller Distinguished Lecture Series on the topic of “The Secrets to
Entrepreneurial Success”. Wally is the founder of Famous Amos Chocolate
Chip Cookies, and the author of 4 current books. Much of his speech will
relate to portions of his most recent book “The Cookie Never Crumbles”.
He is widely interviewed and quoted in the Wall Street Journal,
Newsweek, People, Black Enterprise, Nation’s Business, Ebony, Time,
Parade, and The New York Times. He appears frequently on The Today Show,
20/20, Good Morning America, Oprah Winfrey, Larry King Live, and CNN.
His views are widely available in his books, frequent writing, and
commentary on numerous web sites.
The Probasco Chair seeks a faculty commentator from any discipline with
views differing from the speaker to offer 8 minutes of commentary on the
speech. Commentary must be of broadcast quality and an honorarium will
be provided. Interested faculty should contact J.R. Clark at the
Probasco Chair. Faculty wishing to include Mr. Amos’ Oct 28th speech in
their course syllabus for the Fall should contact Debra Stevens at the
Probasco chair to arrange class seating and signature collection.
