If you did not attend the festival last night, I can tell you that you
missed some incredible musicians. It only gets better. So come participate
in the remaining events this weekend.

Tonight jazz legend and Chattanooga native Yusef Lateef will headline the
events at the Bessie Smith Hall. The program opens with free performances
by the Spectrum Big Band and the Monday Night Big Band at 6pm. Mr. Lateef's
quartet plays at 8:00, followed by Miss Justine and the Tony Willams Quartet.

Tomorrow night we are in for a treat right here on campus at the Fine Arts
Center, as another Chattanooga native, tenor sax performer Bennie Wallace,
returns to play with Donald Brown, an icon in jazz who also teaches at our
sister institution in Knoxville. This program will be followed by a jam
session.

Daily passes are $25 for adults, $5 for students with ID.

Call the African American Museum at 266-8658. You can also by tickets at
the door. Proceeds benefit student assistance in obtaining music lessons.

Come help us keep jazz alive in the hometown of Bessie Smith.
