The question of a parents right to make life and death decisions for
their child like this has nothing to do with the doctor. He cannot force
his views on the parents, only the legal system can do that.

I see nothing wrong with that as long as his efforts do not involve
force or deception.
That is called freedom of religion, you may have heard of it.
