Great Point John,

The founding fathers developed a system of three distinct branches of government.  Complete with checks and balances.

The problem is that the majority of the Legislative branch is comprised of the Legal/Judicial branch.

I would go as far to say, that once passing the BAR, a person should be in-eligible for public office/legislative branch.
