The last year we renewed support with HP I tried speaking with our
contract support specialist about the fact that our 4GB system drive did
not appear on the support contract. After several attempts to explain to
her exactly what a hard drive was ( this is not an exaggeration ) she
said she need to speak to someone to find out if it should be listed.

After a couple weeks I called her to find out the status. After much
dissembling she finally admitted that she did not know the answer and
had no idea who she should ask about it. This was just one more
indication that our search for a good third party support company should
commence.

It was a big step. I had lived with my HP dependency for over 15 years
but with coworker assistance I was finally able to admit that I needed
help. Today I am HP free and can pick up a phone to call my support
company without breaking into a cold sweat or entering an alternate
reality where my HP3000 is a printer.

Comments are my own, not my employer's... Etc.
