Hello all,

re: Moving Large Files from n-Class to other systems

*DSCOPY* vs. FTP performance...

*DSCOPY* performs better and certainly is more efficient at transferring blocks rather than records as is the case with FTP/iX. In "ASCII" mode this is a design limitation in that FTP/iX must preform the appropriate processing of record separators when communicating to non-3000 host.

I expect FTP/iX performance could be improved in "BINARY" mode as record separators are not an issue thus binary file reads on the 3000 could be block reads rather than record reads.

Due to the lack of interest in customers installing the current repairs for FTP large file transfers and associated performance fixes... I do not perceive value in pursuing this further a this time..
