Instead of doing that, why don't you (simply) configure ldev so it is not
initially spooled (when adding it, specify "MODE=NONE") and then, just do an
"OPENQ ldevnum" in SYSSTART.PUB.SYS ? No need to specify an entry in
NPCONFIG.PUB.SYS...
