You could also use SUPERTOOL's EXPORT.  It will take each field, strip
trailing blanks and put quotes and commas where needed.

Bill,

Reflection normally strips trailing blanks when it transfers a file from
the 3000 to a PC so I suspect that the issue isn't whether the file has
fixed or variable length records but whether the data is in a fixed format
or delimited by commas or other characters.
If this is the case, you might consider writing a single, fixed format file
that includes delimiters.  Alternatively, if you already have a non-
delimited fixed format file, you could use the FORMAT= option of MPEX's
print command to insert delimiters around the fixed fields.
