Hum...
You didn't specify which OS your HPe3000 has and didn't post result of
"NMMAINT,50" command so I would suspect MPE/iX 7.0 with "base" or original
FTP client but can't be sure 100%. Maybe that FTP server only supports
passive ftp connections which, as far as I remember, were not supported by
"original" FTP client on 7.0.
I think it was brought by FTP client more recent version (A0011A02 if I'm
not wrong).
So, applying most recent FTP patch may help...
